Zipper Structure

Zippers consist of three basic parts: strip, teeth and slider..

  • Teeth: The part on both sides of the zipper tape that interlocks when it passes through the slider. The interlocking state of the teeth is called a chain.
  • Tape: The ribbon is made for zippers only. It is usually made of polyester, but depending on the area of use, there are those made of synthetic fibers, vinyl or cotton yarn.
  • Slider: It is the part that connects or separates the teeth when the zipper is opened and closed. There are different types of sliders that are diversified according to the areas used.
